The Mozart Programming System is an advanced development platform for intelligent, distributed applications. The system is the result of a decade of research in programming language design and implementation, constraint-based inference, distributed computing, and human-computer interfaces. As a result, Mozart is unequalled in expressive power and functionality. Mozart has an interactive incremental development environment and a production-quality implementation for Unix and Windows platforms. Mozart is the fruit of an ongoing research collaboration by the Mozart Consortium.

Technical Committee J15 has developed an ANSI Standard for the Programming Language PL/B. Work has now begun toward submitting this standard for ISO "fast.track" consideration. The PL/B programming language, which was originally developed in 1972 as DATABUS(R), is currently the primary business programming language for over 250,000 workstations in over 40 countries and is supported by at least nine independent compiler companies on a broad range of hardware and operating systems.

R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project which is similar to the S language and environment which was developed at Bell Laboratories (formerly AT&T, now Lucent Technologies) by John Chambers and colleagues. R can be considered as a different implementation of S. There are some important differences, but much code written for S runs unaltered under R.

Tesla is the new TOM compiler, written in TOM. It is the compiler of choice and is actively developed and maintained. How to build and install Tesla is explained in the Tesla install instructions. Note that you do not need TOM to boot Tesla the TOM compiler into existence. (Also note that when using Tesla to build TOM programs, TOM no longer depends on Objective-C or GNU CC.)

It was 15 years ago in February that Adobe shipped version 1.0 of Photoshop - still its most popular (and lucrative) application, and possibly the only bit of software to have spawned its own verb form.

Windows Media Player (abbreviated WMP) is a media player and media library application developed by Microsoft that is used for playing audio, video and viewing images on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system, as well as on Pocket PC and Windows Mobile-based devices. Editions of Windows Media Player were also released for Mac OS, Mac OS X and Solaris but development of these has since been discontinued.
