ITHS will:
- Maintain a website that explains the mission, activities, and people associated with ITHS
- Use the website as a place to provide information that is useful to the advancement of the IT history field
- Organize conferences that help to build a sense of community and provide a place for the community to address issues of common concern
- Work to build a more effective network of the organizations actively working in the IT history area
- Take steps to help build a sense of community among individual IT history practitioners
- Work to expand capacity in the IT history field by encouraging other institutions, especially corporations, to become more interested in IT history and support projects in this area
- Publicize the importance of IT in modern world development and the value of history in understanding this remarkable development
- Work to resolve common problems of the IT history field and take advantage of opportunities - as identified by the ITHS archival and historical advisory committees
- Fund projects endorsed by the ITHS archival and historical advisory committees within the organization's means
- Encourage other individuals and institutions to support these endorsed projects and other projects in the IT history field
ITHS will not:
- Compete with individuals and institutions doing work on IT history
