Bio/Description

The first woman and first African American to serve as president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, Austin broke similar ground at the University of Southern California, where she served as interim president following the resignation of C. L. Max Nikias.

Austin served on numerous White House commissioned boards and committees. She received recognition for her contributions to engineering, aeronautics, and STEM education.
