Brandon Vogel is a DevSecOps and infrastructure engineering leader with more than 30 years of experience supporting mission-critical systems across scientific research, national security, and government operations. His career includes major technical roles at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and the Federal Public Defender’s Office, where he guided modernization efforts in highly secured and complex computing environments.

Vogel’s expertise spans systems architecture, CI/CD automation, security engineering, cloud migration strategies, cross-platform integration, and the evolution of large-scale enterprise infrastructures. His work has supported advanced scientific instrumentation, defense-related research programs, and high-sensitivity federal workflows, giving him a uniquely broad perspective on secure, resilient IT operations.

In addition to his technical depth, Vogel has earned a reputation as a collaborative leader capable of bridging engineering rigor with organizational needs. His experience across academic, defense, and public-sector institutions informs a balanced approach to modernization, cybersecurity, and the long-term reliability of critical systems.

Vogel contributes this background to the IT History Society as part of its Operations Committee, helping ensure that the Society's digital infrastructure is suitable for preserving not only the history of early computing but also connecting our community.
