NYU Innovation Venture Fund is a seed stage venture capital fund that invests in startups such as commercializing technologies and intellectual properties which are developed by New York University students, faculties, and researchers. It also supports university’s efforts to convert research into patentable inventions. The fund makes many investments per year in partnership with other investors and venture capital firms. It will recycle investment returns from the sale of portfolio companies back into the university to finance further research and future ventures. The fund will consider proposals using a variety of evaluation criteria that helps the startups assesses the merits of their opportunities and connects them with the resources to progress their projects. Some of the portfolio companies are numberFire, tagasauris, Vengo, TB Biosciences, and BioDigital. NYU Innovation Venture Fund is a project launched in New York, U.S. It was founded in 2010 by Frank Rimalovski.
