WorldIrish has developed a secondgeneration niche social network. It provides a content platform which connects the Irish diaspora worldwide in one location on the web. Aside from the growing group of Irish-born living abroad, the broader, 50-million online Irish diaspora is widely dispersed. Until now, they have had no virtual home and there has been no direct route for brands to reach this market. WorldIrish is bringing these groups together and are partners with the leading organisations in this space like the GAA, the FAI and Leinster Rugby. WorldIrish is a place for people with a strong common interest in Ireland and Irishness to come together, read stories, watch videos, share their own stories and connect with each other. Based on semantic technology, WorldIrish recognises a user’s interests to direct relevant content to them. WorldIrish offers a unique opportunity to connect with this previously difficultto- reach group of Irish people and those who have a strong affinity to Ireland, its music, literature, dance, sport, food, culture and people. The platform will also showcase Irish crafts and products, tourism, travel and genealogy services in conjunction with select partners.
