Lomb Scientific is a major supplier of laboratory consumables, chemicals and instrumentation to the scientific community. Lomb was originally acquired by Walter Parsons in 1984. At the time it was a niche manufacturer and supplier of microscope slides and coverslips. Under Walter's stewardship together with a loyal senior management team, the organisation flourished and the continued growth resulted in several moves to larger, better equipped facilities culminating in the relocation of the Head Office to a purpose built office and warehouse facility. At the same time we established office and warehouse facilities across the rest of Australia and New Zealand. Lomb Scientific's strong organic growth accelerated in recent times with the purchase of Scot Scientific, Fronine and Ajax Finechem. Scot improved our Western Australian coverage for clients. Fronine improved our manufacturing and supply of pathology stains and solvents. Ajax Finechem improved our exclusive company owned brands in chemicals and solvents for our client base. These acquisitions now form the basis of the Lomb group of companies that aspire to support the advance of science better than any other organisation.
