Bio/Description
After graduating from University of Minnesota in 1929, Rey Johnson became a teacher and invented an electronic test scoring machine, for which IBM bought the rights and hired him. He was sent to San Jose in 1952 to set up the IBM West Coast laboratory, where he managed the creation of the first hard disk drive to be manufactured.
