Max D Hopper

He was recognized as a 20th-century technology pioneer and considered the "father of airline automation in travel agencies." He founded the consulting firm Max D. Hopper Associates, specializing in strategic use of advanced information systems. He retired as chairman of SABRE Technology Group and senior vice president for American Airlines, both units of AMR Corp. He was inducted into the Dallas Infomart's Information Hall of Fame, named one of the decade's 12 most influential information system executives by CIO Magazine, received the J.D. Edwards Leadership Award for innovation in action and received the Tech Titans Award recognizing outstanding information technology individuals in the North Texas area. He served on the boards of several public and private companies and was a member of the advisory board of the Dallas-Fort Worth USO. As a strong supporter of higher education, he was a member of the advisory board of the University of Texas at Dallas Graduate School of Management and the executive board of SMU's School of Engineering and Applied Science. He was a director of the IT History Society
