Board member for industry pioneers such as Authorware/Macromedia, Schoendorf has been active in high-technology industries for 45 years.
He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and has served on the Dean's Advisory Board School of Engineering. He has been a member of the World Economic Forum and was elected to its Foundation Board of Directors for a second term. The Forum is based in Geneva, Switzerland.
He was also elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Forum and has served as well on its U.S. Board. Schoendorf has also served as a consultant to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). He went to Silicon Valley in 1966.
His 18-year career at Hewlett Packard included computer marketing and sales positions, among them Group Marketing Manager for all technical computers, General Manager of Business Development Operations, and General Manager of the Corporate Account Division overseeing large worldwide accounts. He went on to serve as Vice President of Marketing for Apple Computer, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Ungermann-Bass, and CEO of Industrial Networking, a joint venture of Ungermann-Bass and General Electric.
A Venture Partner with Accel Partners from 1988, Schoendorf has served as a Director or consultant to a number of Accel portfolio companies, assisting them in developing their strategic relationships with large companies and in building competitive sales and marketing organizations, working to establish significant strategic relationships in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He has served as a Board member for industry pioneers such as Authorware/Macromedia, and subsequently served as Chairman of Teloquent and Director of All.com, Elemental Software, Biztravel.com, and Cybersafe.
