Bio/Description
Credited with making .SE the world's first top-level domain to be signed with DNSSEC in 2005, Eklund Löwinder was a leading innovator in the implementation of Domain Name System Security Extensions, the protocol that enables users to verify they are visiting a legitimate website. Since the protocol's introduction in 1999, she spurred the development of both its technology and its usage procedures, and traveled the world speaking at conferences and organizing training courses on DNSSEC for other top-level domains.
She served as Quality and Security Manager at .SE, Sweden's Internet Infrastructure Foundation, since 2004. She was a board member of CENTR, the Council of European National Top Level Domain Registries, and served on the boards of the Swedish Law and Informatics Research Institute and the Swedish Network Users' Society. She also served on the information security council of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and was appointed by ICANN as a Crypto Officer for the Internet root zone. She held a Ph.C. in computer science from Stockholm University.
