Wachovia Securities was a retail brokerage and investment company, prior to its merger with Wells Fargo Company. The company’s brokerage business grew through a combination of strong growth and a series of mergers. Wachovia Securities was the second largest brokerage firm in the United States in 2007. The company was founded in 2001 and was made defunct following the merger of Wachovia and Wells Fargo Company in 2008.
