UNHcFREG is a research group dedicated to cyber forensic science.

UNHcFREG is a research group dedicated to cyber forensic science. It engages in basic and applied research and development; raises awareness through training, education, publication, and organizing conferences; functions as a think-tank for cyber forensic science and security research; and provides investigative assistance for law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and private corporations. At the Tagliatela College of Engineering (TCoE), UNHcFREG is charged with the mission of creating courses for two of its focus areas: cyber forensics science and cyber security. Its courses include Intro to Computer Security, Intro to Cyber Forensic Science, Small Scale Digital Device Forensic Science, and Special Topics in Cyber Forensic Science. The reserrach group uses a variety of open source and closed source software tools in its laboratory such as Autopsy, Bulk_extractor, FTK Imager, FTK, and EnCase. It also works on developing its own tools that aid in digital forensic investigations. UNHcFREG was established in 2013 and is based in Connecticut, United States.
