Tamarack Lake Electric Boat Company was formed in 2005 to bring to market electric boats, such as the Loon, a completely viable solar-assisted electric boat. The Loon is the first solar-powered recreational boat ever offered to the boat-buying public. The company has recently been successful in its application to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for $500,000 development funding, competing successfully against 32 other competitive entries for the available state funding.
