SYmbosim provides a design and optimization platform for designing composite structures using technologies 1000X faster than the present state-of-art. Composite structures are lighter than conventional materials and lead to large savings in energy. In addition to strength and durability, they can also be customized to the needs of a customer. Hence, they have generated significant interest. At present, most industries using composite materials resort to using Finite Element Simulations for computational product design. However, FEM is extremely time consuming and most often it does not allow design modifications at a later stage. Hence, companies have to resort to experimental work for design when composite materials are used as structural materials. This exponentially increases the associated costs. SYmbosim provides alternative technology that is 1000X faster than conventional FEM.
