STV is a Scottish digital media company that produces soap operas, dramas, factual content, other entertainment shows, and news. Its programming includes Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Real Heroes, and more. STV’s digital business incorporates the Scottish commercial media website, stv.tv, home to the STV Player and news, sports and weather updates, and entertainment services. STV operates digital services in four cities in Scotland which provide news, events, offers, pictures, and videos for consumers: STV Glasgow, STV Edinburgh, STV Aberdeen, and STV Dundee. These are available as apps, free to download and use on iOS and Android devices, and accompanied by desktop and mobile sites. STV content is available across multi platforms, including iOS, Android, PS3, Windows 8, YouView, and Samsung Smart TV. STV Productions has a partnership with Red Arrow International which co-invests in and co-develops projects as well as distributing STV Productions’ completed programs and formats, outside the U.K. In August 2015, STV Productions entered a strategic development partnership with Group M Entertainment Ltd to create entertainment, factual, and drama projects for the U.K. and international markets. STV was founded in 1957 and is based in Glasgow, Scotland.
