Status was founded in 2016 by two data scientists in New York City. Its mission is to help everyone make smarter financial decisions by democratizing access to financial information. Status’s Mission is to Empower Everyone to Make Smarter Financial Decisions. Status gives everyone the power to anonymously compare their finances with other people. It pools financial data and securely reveals how each Status member’s finances compare to those of people like them. Members can also compare themselves to the national average or create custom comparison groups using filters such as age, income, location, and credit score. These comparisons show each member how well they're managing their entire financial life - including their spending, income, debts, investments, net worth, and credit score. Status also uses algorithms to help members easily find opportunities. It provides each member with personalized insights that encourage them to reduce fees and interest rates, track their spending and income, and maximize their net worth.
