StartStudio Ventures is a product-focused startup studio where entrepreneurs come to start successful companies. Accepted applicants are given $20,000 in exchange for 6% common stock, and are offered an additional $200,000 in the form of a convertible note. Applications are always open. Companies are accepted, funded, and begin incubation (and thus product development) year-round. The incubation period is variable, but typically lasts at least 4 months and ends when an accepted startup has enough traction to seek and close an additional round funding. Their goal is to get you from idea phase to a real, high-quality working product with market traction as quickly as possible.
