The institution’s advanced software system helps to manage individualized patient dosing of Erythropoietic Stimulating Agents (ESAs). Use of the system reduces variability in hemoglobin levels (i.e. hemoglobin cycling). It therefore lowers the risk of hemoglobin cycling side effects such as anemia, weakness, increased risk of thrombosis, stroke, and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
