Penelope Mimetics is developing proprietary processes that harness the potential of byproducts and waste-feed stocks in order to produce environmentally-friendly textile fibers and textile enhancements with targeted functionalities using synthetic biology. Their research connects the company with universities and research organizations, working with proprietary and licensed technologies. They will secure additional funding via the National Science Foundation​ within the SBIR/STTR program; Penelope Mimetics has been accepted into an NSF I-Corps accelerator program.
