Along with its IP Infusion subsidiary, PalmSource also develops software to run the networks and servers in the wireless infrastructure. The company provides the Garnet operating system, the successor to the OS that powered the Palm Pilot PDA, and a commercial-grade platform based on the open-source Linux OS for mobile phones. Later on, PalmSource changed its name to ACCESS Systems Americas, a subsidiary of Japan's ACCESS Co., Ltd.
