OS Locate is a mobile application that enables users to pinpoint their exact location on a map of Great Britain. The app converts GPS location readings from mobile phones to Ordnance Survey National Grid references, enabling them to determine precisely where they are on an Ordnance Survey map. Since it does not require any mobile signal, its inbuilt GPS system can be relied upon, even in the most remote areas. Its additional features include a share button to connect with friends and family via messaging and social media, a digital compass to take bearings, and an about button that hosts information, including hints and tips and a guide to map reading. OS Locate was founded in 2014.
