The company’s game client automatically patches, updates, and pre-installs all of its users’ games automatically so they can start playing. OnLive develops server-based video game processing, allowing games to run without game consoles or high-end computers, moving away from a system in which games are purchased and downloaded. OnLive Desktop, named the No.1 app of 2012 by Time Magazine, demonstrates that a remote desktop experience on a mobile device can feel local. OnLive was founded in 2007 by Steve Perlman, noted entrepreneur and inventor who spent years in developing the technology before launching the OnLive Game Service. It is headquartered in Mountain View, C.A.
