Online Kratom is an online retailer and bootstrap startup specializing in an all-natural herbal supplement known botanically as Mitragyna Speciosa or more commonly, Kratom. Late in 2012, Co-Founders Natalie Adams and Keith Bramet began the Online Kratom project with a $700 personal capital investment, a printer, 2 laptops and a 30 day window for success. The Kratom tree is indigenous to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and surrounding regions. The Mitragyna genus, part of the family Rubiaceae (coffee family), is found in tropical and sub-tropical regions of Asia and Africa. Botanically and chemically, Kratom is closely related to yohimbe. It has been used for centuries by native farmers in the field who would chew on the leaf for energy and other benefits. Although, not yet approved by the FDA nor intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, the popularity and demand for Kratom in the North American consumer market has continued to show consistent growth.
