gaze-based biometric authentication

User authentication is ubiquitous, be it for unlocking your smart phone, accessing your online bank account or entering workplaces where sensitive data is stored. Often multifactor systems are used that include a physical object (RFID chip, smart phone, etc.) that you carry along and your biometric characteristics. However, this denies you entry, should you have forgotten or lost the necessary object. Moreover, the biometric component can often be faked easily. Oculid’s authentication system identifies biometric features of eye movements and combines it with gaze interaction. This enables an intuitive and secure multifactor authentication without burdening the user with a multilevel process. At the same time, it fully respects the privacy needs of our users as it does not record static physiological features. We are a Berlin-based start-up in the pre-seed stage, consisting of a three-member multidisciplinary team of engineers and psychologists. User-centred design of human-computer interaction and years of experience in gaze analysis and interaction, are the foundations of our work. Our way of working is strongly influenced by a scientific approach, openness to new ideas, creative genius, and a compassionate and cheerful atmosphere.
