A bioinspired start up that turns wastewater into clean water, clean energy, and crops for residential and industrial use.

NuLeaf Tech Inc. uses biomimicry to create elegant, natural wastewater treatment solutions to address the universal human need for food and clean water. We build inexpensive, compact systems that treat and recycle wastewater into clean usable water without consuming energy from the grid. We accomplish this through the combination of vertical agriculture, engineered wetlands, and microbial fuel cell technologies. The results are modular, self-powered units fit to treat wastewater on residential and industrial scales at a fraction of the cost of traditional water treatment facilities. While our primary customers are small breweries and other businesses that need to efficiently treat wastewater, the scalable and flexible nature of our technology allows our devices to be used in households, communities, and other industries such as aquaculture and agriculture. We are also a viable wastewater treatment option for off-grid living. We hope to someday optimize this technology to make drinking water and share it with the developing world where finding clean water can often be a daily struggle.
