NOVA Entertainment (formerly dmg Radio Australia) is Australia’s fastest growing entertainment company with broad interests across the media industry. NOVA Entertainment is wholly owned by Illyria, the private investment company of Lachlan Murdoch. NOVA Entertainment national footprint began to take shape with the acquisition of their first FM license in 2000 which became NOVA 96.9 in Sydney. From there, dmg built the NOVA radio network across metropolitan Australia with stations in Melbourne (NOVA 100), Brisbane (NOVA 106.9), Adelaide (NOVA 919) and Perth (NOVA 93.7). The NOVA Network is now the most listened to metro network in Australia. In May 2012, NOVA Entertainment launched smoothfm, a contemporary easy listening FM network in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia’s two largest cities. The smoothfm stations have been an outstanding success, reaching an audience of over 1 million in their first 12 months on air. NOVA Entertainment also owns and operates talk station FIVEaa in Adelaide, Star 104.5 on the NSW Central Coast as well as the digital radio stations Koffee and Coles Radio.
