Newslines: Crowdsourced News Search Engine Newslines is a news kind of search engine for news that aims to collect, summarize and organize all of the world's news, from the past to the present, into multimedia news timelines, called Newslines. The site grows through partnerships with large social media fan pages and achieved over three million page views and one million unique users in November 2016. Mark & Mary Devlin Mark & Mary Devlin (47) are entrepreneurs from Scotland who went to Japan in their early twenties. In 1994 they started handing out a four-page classified ads sheet on Tokyo street corners, which became Metropolis, Japan’s No 1 English magazine. They also started japantoday.com, the No 1 English news site about Japan in the world . At the time of its sale in 2007, their business had annual revenues of over $4million, profit of 20%, and 35 staff from over 10 different countries.
