Company Description

Native Documents has developed a pixel perfect chat-enabled viewer/editor for Microsoft Word documents, for the web, iOS and elsewhere

They are the makers of a Word document editor designed for teams reliant on the web and mobile devices. Most businesses use Microsoft Office documents, and Google hasn’t altered that fact. This is because the features which were exciting and new 10 years ago, came at the cost of compatibility. They’re unique because they give you both: support for your existing documents, and a foundation for new features. Without compromise. The secret to delivering this is their proprietary layout engine, which you can think of as being WebKit for Office documents. Their customers have told us they need things like: - table of contents - headers/footers - track changes - comments - columns - complex tables So they’ve made sure these work as you’d expect, inside your browser. Much of this is still missing from Google Docs and Word Online, despite public demand. You’d think that if these features were easy to add on top of what they offer, you’d have them by now. Their customers also need to work in lengthy/complex documents, without worrying whether their browser will be able to handle it. They tell us they want all the features of Microsoft Word and not a crippled Word Online.
