Miproto is a web-based product design, development and prototyping platform.

Miproto is changing manufacturing for both businesses and individuals. The website allows anybody to upload their product idea, and have it developed by the same engineers working on the worlds most advanced technologies, into 3D CAD files, 3D printed models, prototypes and even mass manufactured items. The company brings together the disjointed process into one slick system – reducing times from months to days and weeks. Whilst reducing costs by cutting admin roles and multiple projects managers across facilities. Miproto provides a platform for product design that connects in house engineers with a global army of 24/7 freelancers, client projects, CAD files, 3D printing machines, CNC factories, mass manufacturing facilities, and even a 2D printer for invoicing! Whilst Student, Joey McConnel, was able to develop his university project component into a manufactured piece, the Design Council used Miproto to design and 3D print 200 awards for the designers involved in the London 2012 Olympics. At the same time, top secret medical devices where being prototyped in the London 3D printers. These were being designed over night by a selection of client chosen freelance engineers, based in America and Asia.
