Founded in 1995, MDSL began provided on-premise software to financial institutions to manage the growing costs of 'market data' contracts, an expense item that ranks in the top 5 of most trading banks. Given the specific complexity of trading-room telephony, the company added 'Market Voice Manager' to its portfolio in 1998 to help the same institutions manage their sprawling telecom estates. In 2003, the company began providing solutions 'on-demand' in an Application Service Provider model, and created 'Telecom Expense Manager' as a tool aimed at large, multinational enterprises.
