Maoyan is a leading provider in China's online movie ticketing market. Maoyan.com was originally owned by Meituan and Dazhongdianping, two Internet firms that merged in 2015. Recently, Maoyan has made efforts to expand into the film production industry as well. As of 2016, 85.5% of Maoyan was owned by Chinese billionaire and Meituan founder Wang Xing.
