Maktaby, a virtual office space (Maktaby, an Arabic word meaning: my office). its main service area is offering a platform through which women can acquire skills and knowledge, interact and engage with others, and ultimately find work opportunities through a freelancing or setting a home office arrangement. For 2.3 million university graduate internet user woman in Egypt, the platform will provide a much-needed opportunity to find work that match their skills set beyond their geographical constraints. For others, online and offline educational tools will be available to acquaint women with the concept of freelance work, using the platform to help them identify and build their core competencies, and match their skills with the relevant opportunities available by employers, individuals and corporations...in and out of Egypt. The plan is to target women in Egypt as the first phase then scale to other middle eastern countries.
