LeydenJar Technologies develops pure silicon anodes to boost the energy density of Li-ion battery cells

LeydenJar Technologies BV is a spin out venture from Dutch Energy research center ECN. We are developing pure silicon anodes to boost the energy density of Li-ion battery cells. Our production method is based on altered Linear MW PECVD technology. PECVD is commonly used in the Photovoltaic and Semiconductor industry. We deposit the pure silicon directly on copper foil, providing a high capacity- and cost efficient alternative to graphite based anodes, produced with a capital intensive coating process.
