Company Description

At Legacy Venture, we tap the potential of venture capital to help our members amplify their positive impact in the world.

At Legacy Venture, we tap the potential of venture capital to help our members amplify their positive impact in the world. Founded in 1999 and based in Silicon Valley, Legacy is a unique organization tapping into the financial power of venture capital and combining it with an extensive philanthropic community. Each part of the Legacy business model is designed to make the other parts stronger in a synergistic way. The community improves the reputation of Legacy, thereby allowing access to better venture funds, and this access increases the philanthropic impact of Legacy. This reinforcing cycle keeps getting better. We have 500 Limited Partners (LPs) that include the founders and executives from successful technology companies; private equity, hedge and venture firm executives; and philanthropic foundations. Legacy Venture provides these LPs access to the premier venture capital firms in the world while offering them one of the industry’s lowest fee structures. In exchange for such investment opportunities, our LPs agree to donate all principal and profits to the philanthropic causes they choose. Legacy Venture’s management team is comprised of seasoned leaders in venture capital, finance and philanthropy who have more than 50 years of combined experience in the field. Their deep insights and personal networks are a key part of what makes Legacy Venture attractive to such elite and successful funds, and what empower our members to maximize their philanthropy.
