Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center is a museum and educational facility dedicated to the development of applied science education. It has a collection of U.S. and Russian space artifacts in the world that provides a resource for the its applied STEM education programs, which are focused on next generation science standards, common core, and college and career readiness. Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center is known for the display and restoration of spaceflight artifacts and educational camps. It is one of only three museums to display flown spacecraft from Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center was founded in 1962 and is based in Hutchinson, K.S.
