COM.UNITY Project is an app development contest that aims to provide charities with technology, social networking, and media platforms.

COM.UNITY Project is a annual application development contest that aims to provide charities with technology, social networking, and media platforms. The organization believes that by enhancing these voluntary organizations with the technological tools, they can significantly increase the amount of volunteers, alleviate them from their struggles, and optimize their operations.  COM.UNITY is open to groups of students (3-4 students) from all institutions of higher education in Israel. Each one of 10 carefully-selected groups of students chooses a charity or foundation from a pre-nominated list of charities, and is assigned a mentor from the software industry. Participating groups have exactly 6 weeks to characterize, design and develop, with the guidance of their mentor, a prototype of an application that will inspire the population to take action in their charity of choice or will assist that charity in routine operations. The winners are chosen by a panel of distinguished judges, and will receive award money to be used for developing their prototype to a functioning application for the use of their charity. The team members will take part in a product development lifecycle, will be mentored by seasoned professionals, and will have the opportunity to win more prizes.
