Adobe AIR Based FriendFeed Application

Alert Thingy is an Adobe AIR application that brings FriendFeed to the desktop. It was [announced](http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/03/29/adobe-air-desktop-app-for-friendfeed-coming/) in March 2008, and [launched](http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/04/13/friendfeed-desktop-application-launches/) on April 13, 2008. The application was created by Howard Baines. On April 16, 2008, Alert Thingy [v 1.2 launched](http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/04/16/look-out-twhirl-alert-thingy-adds-twitter-support/), which included integration with the Twitter API, allowing users to post messages directly to Twitter.
