Aixuedai is an online payment platform that finances purchases of consumer electronics made by college students in Mainland China. Launched in December 2012, it allows students to buy items such as phones, tablets, laptops, and cameras using monthly installment plans. Customers only need two photo IDs, one of them a student ID, to apply for a loan. They have to find the item they want on an e-commerce site, and paste the URL into the application. They can then choose the number of months over which they want to pay the money back and their optional desired down payment.
