Act By Cotec is a company that is a technology commercialization accelerator.

Act is a startup seed accelerator focused in supporting the creation of high-growth technology-based ventures. Created in 2010 by COTEC Portugal - a not for profit business association, Act helps researchers from diverse scientific fields moving their technologies from the lab to the market. Based in Porto (Portugal), Act accelerator program provides training, mentoring and facilitates access to funding. Act’s flagship initiative is the COHITEC Program, a 4-month training program in technology commercialization that runs once a year in two different locations in Portugal. A maximum of 16 teams are selected, each year, to attend the COHiTEC Program and the projects that show greatest potential are invited to move forward to the next stages of acceleration, namely proof-of-concept and business development.
